homicidal-hero asked: Hey there, you do some amazing custom piercings. Do you have any mentoring you can give to me about the industry?

Thanks, designing is my personal favorite part of jewelry. Being able to have something made specifically for a piercing I have done is rad.

As far as this industry, it’s not as glamorous as it seems. Yes there is jewelry, rad people and traveling that can be done but that is no where near all. In order to be the best I can be, I have to continue my education and keep up with the industries evolution.

I also have to clean and process contaminated tools. These tools can contain things like H.I.V., hep or some other nasty. I run the risk of getting stuck with a needle that has traveled through someone else. I have to deal with problems like troubleshooting angry piercings, angry clients and upset parents.

That’s not even the tip of the ice. If you truly want to be in this industry do yourself, and me, a favor and don’t be a hack. Get a proper job in a studio, work the front and get a taste for the industry before you fully decide if its for you.

curiousfearless asked: Where are you located? I also want to ask...I'm wanting to get a vch piercing but I'm curious if it will cause any problems during sex. Like get pulled on too much or something.

I am currently located in Albuquerque and I pierce at Evolution Body Piercing.

As for a good piercing, this piercing has potential to be put in awkward positions depending on your activities. For fresh piercings I am not one to tell people “no sexual activity” but it is certainly limited until its healed. By this I mean no unprotected sex, no matter the status or length of you relationship, is healthy. I also suggest a simple aftercare after activities to help wash potential contact away.

The most important thing to know is that at any point, healed or not, if your piercing hurts, pinches or the like during these times you need to stop. That is causing trauma to your piercing and can cause more problems than just halting.

Make sure to find a reputable piercer in your area.

alternativemommy2011 asked: Hello (: I was just wondering the steps you took to becoming a body piercer? I am from Ontario, Canada and would also like to become one.

The steps I took to becoming a piercer were long and very difficult. I was very young and didn’t go about it in what I now consider a correct way. I was primarily self taught for my first year, I worked 7 days a week and had no guidance at all. I was using implant grade internally threaded jewelry but that’s no excuse for the uneducated guessing I was doing.

Luckily I met up with some amazing piercers later on and they helped guide me in answering the questions to why I was placing things where I was and helped me in basically becoming the piercer I am 12 years later.

Now none of this would have been possible had I not wanted or was willing to learn and be properly educated (still do) so that I could better my work for my clients. I whole heartily believe that piercing people the way that I want to get pierced makes me better myself for all the people I pierce.
